This position will initially build the foundation for three distinct areas within the finance function at Beta. The ideal candidate will be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects at one time while utilizing consultants to support the functions where necessary. We anticipate the position will evolve over time to specialize within the internal control or the financial reporting/technical accounting responsibilities. The position will require a team player and an individual with excellent communication skills. The candidate must be comfortable presenting progress to management, and have a core knowledge of GAAP accounting for complex transactions. Comfort with both SEC and GAAP reporting requirements would also be beneficial.
How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
Managing the external reporting function
Identifying and analyzing complex accounting matters under GAAP and ensuring proper reporting
Serving as the internal expert on US GAAP and accounting regulations
Implementing systems and processes to track reporting needs as well as internal controls
Preparing and/or reviewing technical accounting items such as stock-based compensation, warrants, EPS, equity roll forward, cash flow statement
Assisting other team members as needed with investor or customer relations, including preparation of materials
Developing and leading a team that adheres to the financial reporting and internal control requirements
Minimum Qualifications we are seeking:
Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA License
10+ years in a technical accounting environment, public experience preferred
Strong organization, oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines and report on progress
Experience in developing and mentoring a team to work collectively and meet tight deadlines
Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise in Visio as well as experience with accounting software
Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
Experience with large-scale ERP systems
Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:
SOX experience
Experience with PLEX ERP
Public company financial reporting knowledge and/or internal controls
Experience with BlackLine, lease accounting software, SAP Concur, and/or Carta Equity Platform
