Lead Project Engineer - Cabin Systems & Interiors

The Lead Project Engineer for Cabin Systems and Interiors will be a self-starter who leads the Cabin Systems team in the configuration, design, procurement, and manufacturing of the aircraft interior, compartment arrangements, and cabin monuments.  The ideal candidate will have expertise in leading teams and coordinating complex aircraft or rotorcraft interiors projects.  The candidate should have experience with FAA or EASA regulations (14 CFR Part 23 and 27 are strongly desired) and working knowledge of FAA flammability requirements.  The Cabin Systems Lead Project Engineer will work with the support of a cross-disciplinary team of certification engineers, DERs, industrial designers, and procurement and manufacturing specialists.  You will have responsibility for managing the cabin systems equipment qualification and procurement or manufacturing schedule to support the aircraft production schedule.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Team leader for a cross-functional team developing, certifying, procuring, and building the aircraft cabin systems and interior
  • Managing and coordinating team tasks, schedules, and resources
  • Integration of the cabin systems with the airframe and other aircraft systems
  • Interface with launch customers and potential operators to understand customer needs
  • Participate in and provide technical support for supplier selection including authoring requests for proposal 
  • Technical coordination with suppliers to ensure development, design, qualification, and manufacturing efforts support the aircraft production schedule
  • Authoring system and component specifications for cabin systems equipment
  • Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • ABET-accredited Engineering Degree in relevant discipline
  • 10+ years experience working in aircraft or rotorcraft Interiors or Cabin Systems development, design, and certification
  • Working knowledge of FAA policy and regulations for flammability  
  • Proven ability to lead large and complex aircraft projects
  • Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Working relationships with Cabin Systems and Interior equipment suppliers
  • Google G-suite including Drive, Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Charts; Slack
  • Familiarity with Solid Modeling tools (Onshape and CATIA experience preferred)
