As the Facilities Director at BETA Technologies, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of facilities management to ensure the efficient and safe operation of our R&D, manufacturing, testing, and administrative spaces. You will play a critical role in maintaining a high-quality work environment that supports our cutting-edge research, development, and production activities. This position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and a hands-on approach to facility operations.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for facilities management, aligning with the BETA’s objectives and growth plans.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of facilities and equipment, including maintenance, repairs, janitorial services, security, and environmental health and safety.
  • Manage facility budgets, expenditures, and contracts, optimizing resources to achieve cost-effective solutions while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Lead facility improvement projects, renovations, and expansions coordinating with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and contractors to ensure timely and successful execution.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for facility maintenance, asset management, and space utilization, optimizing efficiency and productivity across all areas.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations, maintaining documentation and records as necessary.
  • Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans, business continuity strategies, and security protocols to safeguard facilities, assets, and personnel.
  • Supervise and mentor facility staff, providing leadership, guidance, and professional development opportunities to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and TeamOps, to support their facility needs and facilitate seamless operations.
  • Minimum Qualifications we are seeking:

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFM, IFMA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in a high-tech manufacturing or aerospace environment, with a proven track record of leadership and achievement.
  • Strong knowledge of facility management principles, practices, and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and ADA.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, budgeting, and contract negotiation, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and deliver results on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive organizational change.
  • Must be able to provide proof of a Valid driver's license and a clean driving record    
  • Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to effectively communicate within the company's software and email/messaging programs. (Google suite; Slack)
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment:
    Work is performed indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions.  May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, noise, and temperature extremes. Must be able to use power tools. Regular travel between facilities is required daily.  While primary facilities hours are during the day, the incumbent must have the flexibility to, on occasion, work outside normal business hours, including evening, night, and weekend hours. Position involves frequent bending, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching below and above shoulders, and moderate to heavy lifting is required.  Wrist, hand and finger dexterity is required to operate various equipment and materials. Extensive walking, and climbing to get to the site of various projects or work activities is a part of everyday life here at BETA.
