The Senior Mechanical Engineering Analyst is responsible for supporting the development of innovative electric aircraft components with their world-class FEA skillset. As a Sr. Mechanical Engineering Analyst at Beta Technologies, you will work in a small team environment to rapidly develop new technologies in the evolving world of eVTOL aircraft design. As an open-minded and outside-the-box thinker, you will perpetually strive to supplement your past industry experience with new knowledge gained every day through research and experimentation as you support the development of next-generation, high-energy-density energy storage systems. You will utilize your knowledge of structural analysis software to ensure designs are meeting design requirements, meeting the highest safety standards, and exceeding all relevant regulatory requirements. You will have a part in all aspects of the development of the energy storage system and guide the team in both product and test fixture development. You will be challenged every day and probably have a lot of fun.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Develop, run, and summarize detailed simulations related to structural load cases, including shock, vibration, and crash scenarios
  • Provide guidance and support to manufacturing and test teams to develop and test components and assemblies to validate analysis
  • Support the mechanical design team through sensitivity studies, design recommendations, and quick analysis of alternative concepts
  • Coordinate and manage larger-scale external contract analysis projects
  • Support product development from concept through testing, working in a small team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with both internal & external customers
  • High energy, self-motived, organized and detail-oriented
  • Minimum Qualifications We are seeking:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering degree with strong Mechanical Design focus from an accredited University.
  • Minimum 5 years experience performing detailed mechanical analysis on complex assemblies including thin metallic components, adhesives, plastics, composites, etc. 
  • Mastery of 3D CAD software (Catia preferred) with experience in FEA (ANSYS preferred)
  • Experience supporting product certification - FAA certification experience preferred
  • Self-starter that is well organized, disciplined, team player and well versed in structural analysis.
  • Good team, communication and leadership skills required.
