Engineering: Project Manager

Description

The Project Manager will be a self-starter supporting the Flight Instrument team with project management functions. The selected candidate will be an integral team player working to ensure the teams develop and track to a schedule. This individual will also work with the program team to track program requirements, schedules, and budgets, including tools and resources. 
The Project Manager will work with the support of a cross-disciplinary team of designers, mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, as well as materials and process engineers, certification engineers, DERs, industrial designers, and procurement and manufacturing specialists. This individual will have the responsibility to ensure alignment with the different interfacing groups, suppliers and work closely with the manufacturing group, aligning the team schedules and milestones to support the aircraft production schedule. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing and coordinating team tasks and schedule and coordinating resources
  • Provide status updates to all levels of the company 
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure schedule alignment for the overall program
  • Coordination with suppliers to ensure development, design, qualification, and manufacturing efforts support the aircraft production schedule 
  • Participate in and provide support for supplier selection including authoring requests for proposal, support to our Supply chain team, and contracts
  • Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Accredited Engineering Degree in relevant discipline 
  • 5+ years experience working in aircraft or rotorcraft and/or composite industry with a focus on development, design, and certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years as a project/program manager. 
  • Experience with Tier 1 Aerospace Suppliers 
  • Familiar with Program/Project Management processes 
  • Relevant experience in other regulated industry will be valued
  • Proven ability to manage large and complex projects 
  • Ability to remain positive and mitigate risk when course corrections are required
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills, and commitment to objectives and responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage initiatives of a technical, financial, marketing, and general business nature 
  • Ability to work autonomously 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • PMP certification is considered a plus 
  • Software engineering background 
  • Experience or demonstrated understanding of composite manufacturing processes
  • Working knowledge of Project Management tools (MSProject, Jira, others) 
  • Google G-suite including Drive, Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Charts; Slack
