Beta Technologies’ Certification team is seeking a Conformity team member who will work with them to support conformity activities toward type certification from the FAA for their electric aircraft.  This person will also help with necessary activities to attain a FAA Production Certificate for type certificated products.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Support the company’s Accountable Manager for conformity activities by maintaining communication of current and planned activities with the FAA.  Maintain meeting minutes and action item lists.
  • Coordination of conformity inspection activities as part of the type certification process, which involves coordination between the FAA, their designees, and Beta Airworthiness Certification, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.  Hold weekly meetings to ensure due dates are aligned on various teams, and that activities will be completed on time. Maintain conformity inspection database.
  • Co-lead the certification conformity activities at Beta.  Provide tracking status for all conformity activities and completions to support FAA project completions and production airworthiness certifications.
  • Hold regular meetings (often weekly) and help solve issues and problems. 
  • Work with the Quality team to develop Beta’s Quality System by helping write or review procedures and work instructions in accordance with SAE AS9100 and FAA Part 21 requirements. 
  • Work with Engineering team to develop FAA conformity inspection requests and support review of documentation in support of those inspections.
  • Coordinate recruitment and use of FAA designees such as Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) and Designated Airworthiness Representatives (DARs) to complete required activities.  Maintain current data on these people.
  • Minimum Qualifications we are seeking:

  • Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:

  • Associate’s degree in engineering, pre-engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of four years of industry experience, including some leadership experience.
  • Experience working in an aircraft manufacturing company that has attained FAA Type Certification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; attention to detail; bias for action; good analytical skills and logical thinking.
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills.
  • Proven ability to work well on your own and with a group of people.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft and/or Google applications.
  • Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:

  • Experience as an FAA designee or relevant FAA Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) experience.
  • Previous experience working on a FAA type certification project under Part 23.
  • Experience coordinating activities across multiple functional teams.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
