Control, Modeling, and Simulation Engineer - Battery Systems

This Control, Modeling, and Simulation Engineer would serve as a core member of the Model Based Design (MBD) team at BETA in direct support of the Battery team. This team member would be responsible for the development of battery management systems and battery models in the MATLAB / Simulink environment for aircraft systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development of controllers in Simulink that will be used to generate embedded C code
  • Modeling of physical systems
  • Implementation on hardware in the loop (HIL) systems
  • Design verification
  • Tool development (task automation, optimization)
  • Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • A bachelors of science degree in a STEM field
  • 2+ years working with embedded C
  • Experience generating DO-178 and/or DO-331 compliant code
  • Expertise in battery management systems
  • Strong fundamentals in physics, electrical engineering, and/or electrochemistry
  • Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • 5+ years working with MBD tools (e.g., Simulink, SCADE, LabVIEW)
  • 5+ years experience in object-oriented programming
