Manufacturing Program Manager

South Burlington, VT


The Program Manager for Manufacturing will be a self-starter supporting the Manufacturing team. The selected candidate will be accountable to continuously update and track the Manufacturing program schedule and work with the program office to track the requirements, schedules, and budgets, including tools and resources and keep them ridiculously aligned. 

The Project Manager will work with the support of a cross-disciplinary team of Manufacturing engineers, facility designers, management systems and mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, as well as materials and process engineers, certification engineers, DERs, industrial designers, and procurement and specialists. You will have the responsibility to ensure alignment with the different interfacing groups, suppliers and work closely to keep pace with our breakneck aircraft production schedule. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing and coordinating team tasks and schedule and coordinating resources
  • Coordination with internal and external teams to ensure development, design, qualification, certification, and manufacturing efforts support business milestones 
  • Participate in and provide support for supplier selection including authoring requests for proposal, support to our Supply chain team and vendor contracts 
  • Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Accredited Engineering Degree in relevant discipline 
  • 5+ years experience working in aircraft, rotorcraft or electric powertrain industry with a focus on development, design, and certification. 
  • Minimum of 3 years as a project/program manager 
  • Familiar with Program/Project Management processes 
  • Proven ability to manage large, complex and fast-moving projects 
  • Ability to remain positive and mitigate risk when course corrections are required
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills, and commitment to objectives and responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage initiatives of a technical, financial, marketing, and general business nature 
  • Ability to work autonomously 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Working knowledge of Project/Program Management tools (MSProject, Jira, others)
  • Google G-suite including Drive, Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Charts; Slack
  • Familiarity with Solid Modeling tools (Onshape and CATIA experience preferred)
  • High-level understanding of aerospace and electric powertrain technology and industry direction overall
