Electrical Engineer - Harness Installation and System Integration

South Burlington, VT

At Beta Technologies, together we apply our intellectual curiosity, passion for aviation, and commitment to sustainability toward a shared mission of revolutionizing electric aviation. Regardless of the position one holds, each team member brings their talent and desire to positively impact the environment and lives of others in a refreshing, vibrant, and inclusive culture.

This position is responsible for creating and maintaining wiring diagrams for Beta aircraft and devices utilizing input from system teams, collaborating with 3D modeling users to facilitate wire routing and physical harness construction, as well as creation and maintenance of other supporting diagrams and documentation for Beta projects where applicable.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Utilize system teams’ inputs to generate wiring diagrams. These inputs can include sketches, block diagrams, written descriptions, device installation manuals, etc. Candidates should be comfortable using any number of these to derive a wiring diagram and integrate it into the parent aircraft harness structure, communicate these integrations back to system teams, and make revisions as necessary. Being a development project, there will be frequent changes to most systems. Candidates should be comfortable with a fast development environment, and willing to rework projects as development progresses.
  • Collaborate with 3DX/Catia counterparts to generate layout drawings involving data exchanges between the 2D and 3D softwares. Candidates should be able to collaborate efficiently with the 3D designer to implement any changes generated from the DMU, drive length and bundle diameter calculations through the data exchanges, and be able to ‘flatten’ and layout the harness in 2D.
  • The position works with both R&D and Certification projects. Candidates should be comfortable working with different workflows to best accommodate different levels of development.
  • Other projects outside of aircraft harnessing can include wiring diagrams for boxes, circuit diagrams, documentation of existing wiring and connection structures, maintenance to POC aircraft records pertaining to harnessing and system interconnections, etc.
