This position maintains aircraft, forms and records and performs expediter, crew chief, support, aero repair, and maintenance functions. Advises on problems maintaining, servicing, and inspecting aircraft. Uses technical data to diagnose and solve maintenance problems on aircraft systems. Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft. Troubleshoots and maintains aircraft structures, systems, and components. Tests repaired components using mockups and test equipment. Adjusts, aligns, rigs, and calibrates aircraft systems. Performs engine run-up. Accomplishes weight and balance functions. Jacks, tows, and services aircraft. Inspects aircraft structures, systems, and components. Supervises and performs aircraft and component inspections. Interprets inspection findings and determines adequacy of corrective actions. Inspects and checks components for clearances, tolerances, proper installation, and operation. Inspects and operates powered and non-powered aerospace ground equipment. Reviews maintenance forms, aircraft records, and reports to ensure complete documentation. Inventories and maintains alternate mission equipment. Coordinates maintenance plans to meet operational commitments. Supervises and assists in launching and recovering aircraft. Reviews maintenance data collection summaries to determine trends and production effectiveness.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Perform aircraft maintenance, instrumentation, and other test related activities
Coordinate test and evaluation events
Determine the readiness of flight test aircraft
Conduct ground tests of experimental & certificated aircraft
Communicate test results to project personnel
Recommend changes to aircraft and aircraft systems to meet regulatory requirements, design requirements, design objectives, customer needs and safety
Ability to read schematics
Wiring, crimping pins and sockets and basic knowledge of connectors
Basic electrical troubleshooting
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with both internal & external customers
High energy, self-motived, organized and detail-oriented
5+ years of experience in aerospace or other regulated industry preferred
Avionics and basic electrical troubleshooting preferred
Inspection Authorization license a plus
Google G -Suite including drive, mail, calendar, docs, sheets, slides, charts, hangouts; slack, application lifecycle
Production Lifecycle and Enterprise Resource Planning software (Omnify, Arena, Aras, Plex)
Management software (DOORS, Polarion, JAMA, JIRA)
Strong problem solving and root cause corrective action investigation background
