The Associate Counsel team member will support and advise on legal aspects of BETA’s business, safeguarding its reputation, ensuring compliance on all relevant issues, and minimizing the probability of exposure. The incumbent will work on cross-functional teams to guide and support legal initiatives while foreseeing and protecting the company against legal risks.  

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Support internal stakeholders responsible for the management of intellectual property and help to manage outside counsel.
  • Negotiate, write, and edit agreements and contracts on behalf of the company, including complex supply agreements.
  • Review contracts generated by various BETA Team Members and/or vendors,  including but not limited to, work agreements, leases, licenses, purchases, sales, insurance, etc.
  • Work with team members to streamline and make more efficient the contract negotiating and writing process.
  • Research, anticipate, and make recommendations to BETA leadership on how to respond to legal issues or proposed changes in laws and regulations, which impact the business. 
  • Review advertising and marketing materials to ensure that they are in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Manage outside counsel on various specific projects as applicable.
  • Provide training across the company on pertinent legal topics.

  • Minimum Qualifications we are seeking:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. 
  • Admittance to a state bar
  • Three or more years of corporate law experience either as inside counsel or at a large law firm. 
  • Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:

  • Aviation, aerospace, or other highly regulated industry original equipment manufacturer (OEM) experience is highly desired
  • Experience in working with Supply Chain professionals  to resolve  complex supply chain issues
  • Other experience working with/on corporate, transactional, employment, intellectual property, and environmental statutes
  • Eye for detail, a creative mind, and excellent communication, writing, and analytic skills
  • A willingness to be flexible and proactive in solving complex challenges
