This position is responsible for hands-on work on the aircraft and directly supports our all-electric aircraft fleet's integration, maintenance, and flight test operations. 

Note: This position is split between our Headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Burlington, VT and Flight Test Facility in Plattsburgh, NY. There are also opportunities to travel with the aircraft when flown out of the area for Market Survey flight events.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Perform aircraft maintenance, modifications, instrumentation, and other test-related activities
  • Aircraft electrical system troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, and modifications
  • Composites structural inspections, repairs, and modifications
  • Maintain aircraft forms and maintenance records
  • Regular maintenance on aircraft high voltage systems, electric propulsion systems, avionics, instrumentation systems, landing gear and composites structures
  • Launch and recovery of flight test aircraft
  • Aircraft modifications to support operational and flight test requirements
  • Communicate directly with engineers and project managers to recommend changes to aircraft systems to improve reliability and maintainability
  • Coordinate and perform ground test operations
  • Organize and maintain aircraft ground support equipment and hardware
  • Develop maintenance processes and procedures 
  • Contribute to the development of a maintenance program 

  • Minimum Qualifications we are seeking:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with both internal & external colleagues/customers
  • High energy, self-motived, organized and detail-oriented
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace or other regulated industry
  • Airframe & Powerplant license and/or equivalent experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read schematics
  • Wiring, crimping pins and, sockets, and basic knowledge of connectors
  • Avionics/ basic electrical troubleshooting
  • Passion for safety through quality at all times
  • Google G -Suite including drive, mail, calendar, docs, sheets, slides, charts, hangouts, slack

  • Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:

  • Background in Flight Test / Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience with training others toward obtaining Airframe and Powerplant Licenses.  
  • Experience working with Aviation Maintenance Management programs/software like IMDS, CAMP, Envision, AvPro, etc.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Pilots license 
  • Degree/partial schooling toward any engineering occupation

  • Ability to lift 25/40/80 pounds periodically

  • Move two or more limbs together (for example two arms, two legs, one arm, and one leg) while remaining in place
  • Must be able to wear protective gear for certain tasks 
  • Determines the  distance between objects 
  • React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet
