BETA Technologies is seeking a Law Clerk on BETA’s In House Legal Team. In this role, you will assist a dynamic high growth business with a variety of Legal needs, which may include corporate governance, real estate matters, supply chain and customer transactions, commercial and government contracting, FAA and other federal regulatory issues, compliance, and intellectual property matters. The role will contribute to the Legal Team’s work monitoring and advising on laws and regulations and implementing internal processes, best practices, and templates.
BETA Legal prioritizes passion and creativity to address cutting-edge legal issues relevant to electric aviation. Summer Clerkships are primarily offered May-August. If your availability is outside of this timeframe, please communicate specifics in your cover letter.
How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
Legal research and analysis relevant to aerospace, aviation, electric propulsion, or similar.
Complex contract drafting and negotiation.
Aerospace and aviation regulations.
US Government contracting.
Corporate governance and internal policy creation.
Data privacy and compliance matters.
Legal digital technology
Minimum Qualifications we are seeking (your Knowledge, Experience, and Abilities):
Pursuing J.D. from an accredited Law School.
Post 2L or 3L.
On-site at Beta’s headquarters in South Burlington, VT during Clerkship.
Strong demonstrated interest in aviation, technology, and sustainability.
A self-starter who is high-energy, hardworking, organized, disciplined, and able to work independently.
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
A desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you (preferred qualifications):
Previous internship/clerkship or experience working in a fast-paced industry and/or high growth company related to electric vehicles, aircraft, rotorcraft, or any other relevant industry focused on development, design, or certification. Relevant law firm experience also qualifies.
University/Collegiate/Graduate design projects or personal project experience related to entrepreneurship and/or electric aviation.
