As a Senior Stress Engineer for the Structures Team at BETA, you will be responsible for the integration of activities related to aircraft structural design and substantiation, product definition and configuration, in-service support as well as certification for airplane structural work packages
How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
Perform various stress analyses of Static Strength, Fatigue/Durability, Damage Tolerance, and Finite Element Model (FEM) for metallic and composite structures
Review engineering drawings and participate actively in new design
Monitor, support and provide guidance to Structural Suppliers to ensure a quality product and supporting documentation are produced
Ensure the harmonization & development of sizing methodologies and guidelines
Perform Material Review Board (MRB) duties in support of Operations activities
Participate and assist in the coordination of Certification related activities for the structures
Support to other internal departments that may require your composite skills
Minimum Qualifications we are seeking:
BS in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or related degree from an accredited University.
Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience.
Knowledge and experience of Aircraft structural substantiation analysis: Static, Fatigue/Durability, and Damage Tolerance
Excellent knowledge and experience on aircraft stress analyses,
Experience with hybrid structure design & methodologies
Basic knowledge of PDM/PLM systems
Knowledgeable and energetic person with excellent communication and listening skills that is able to work in a team environment
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing needs and requirements
Great communication skills (oral and written) in both English and French
Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:
Experience in an integration role
Experience with certification of composite material
Experience with CATIA 3DExperience
Experience with Google G -Suite and Slack
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Working in a brand-new office in Montréal on the side of the YUL airport. Partially remote working is also available.
