The Project Manager is responsible for helping us achieve streamlined, high throughput test capability at our new, state-of-the-art test facility in St. Albans, VT. As a Project Manager on the Battery Test team at Beta Technologies you will use your leadership and problem-solving skills to establish processes to forecast test needs, coordinate use and repair of a variety of aerospace test equipment, and ensure smooth operation of the facility as a whole. Test needs range from one-off research and development tests, to extensively planned tests witnessed by the FAA for certification credit. An ideal candidate has the soft skills to keep the team moving forward, is willing to be hands-on when necessary, and has the drive and motivation to see things through to completion no matter the challenge. 

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Collaborate with Program Managers across multiple departments to meet the overall test needs of the business
  • Streamline existing test planning and reporting procedures and develop new processes to improve throughput and efficiency
  • Visualize progress toward weekly, quarterly, and yearly goals
  • Coordinate necessary repairs, maintenance, and calibration of equipment
  • Act as a company representative during various certification credit tests, as needed
  • Look out for your teammates and maintain a safe, positive, and efficient work environment
  • Use all mandated safety equipment and comply with all safety requirements in accordance with company and government regulations and guidelines
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned
  • Minimum Qualifications we are seeking:

  • 5 years experience managing or designing a technical product
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and driven to continually learn, develop, and adapt
  • Ability to assist in problem analysis and independent decision-making
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and schematics of electronic components
  • Good team communication skills required
  • Google G -Suite including drive, mail, calendar, docs, sheets, slides, charts, hangouts; Slack, application lifecycle
  • Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:

  • Formal applicable education, including a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Full product lifecycle experience – design, build, test, redesign
  • Battery cell or high voltage DC electrical system experience
  • Aerospace design verification experience, especially compliance test experience
