Engineering Technician, Manufacturing

BETA is seeking a passionate, outside-the-box thinker who will directly support manufacturing equipment operations. An Engineering Technician at Beta plays a critical role in ensuring the operational availability of manufacturing equipment. The main responsibility of the role will be to keep production running, eliminate downtime, and partner with engineering stakeholders to improve equipment reliability. This is a physically demanding role, in an extremely fast-paced environment that will require walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, squatting, and lying on the ground to perform role-related tasks throughout the day. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain equipment in good working order through the performance of regular inspection processes, reactive and preventive maintenance.
  • Technical knowledge of Mechanical Systems, Conveyance, Hydraulics, PLCs, Pneumatics, Robotics, Electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC 3 phase and automation.
  • Strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Immediately report incidents and emergencies.
  • Operate various equipment in developmental stages.
  • Utilize CMMS to keep maintenance logs for equipment and processes.
  • Become an expert in manufacturing processes to effectively troubleshoot equipment and identify quality issues.
  • Log and track equipment performance, ensure equipment is operating at optimal efficiency. 
  • Communicate and collaborate with the manufacturing engineering team to support continuous improvement.
  • Order parts and supplies, maintain accurate inventory.
  • Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • All around good person and fun to work with
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, utilize hand tools and power tools.
  • Exposure to rapid manufacturing growth and preferably startup experience
  • Extremely high technical aptitude
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to handle setbacks, and find solutions
  • Desire to work in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to make decisions
  • Minimum 2 years maintenance or technician experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
