The Product Safety team at Beta is a part of the Airworthiness organization and helps assure system safety by using techniques like probabilistic risk analysis in the form of assessment methods laid out in industry standards like ARP 4761. The Reliability Engineer will be a part of the Product Safety team and will be responsible for ensuring reliability, maintainability and availability requirements for the aircraft and its systems are met. This role involves working closely with system safety, aircraft integration, design, systems engineering and certification team.
The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for establishing reliability engineering processes and provide mentoring to ensure the established processes are followed.
How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
Establish reliability engineering processes
Mentor the team with reliability engineering concepts and practices
Perform reliability allocation, reliability assessment and reliability prediction
Calculate reliability metrics like MTBF, MTTR etc.
Minimum Qualifications we are seeking:
5+ years of relevant experience
BS in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or similar, MS desired
Experience with reliability program standards like SAE GEIA-STD-0009 and establishing processes therein
Proficient with reliability engineering methods like reliability allocation, reliability assessment and reliability prediction including standard based predictions (MIL-HDBK-217 Plus, NPRD, EPRD etc.) and physics-of-failure prediction methods
Cognizant of reliability engineering standards like MIL-HDBK-338
Familiarity with FAA type certification process, preferably with part 23
Chair the Failure Review Board as a part of the FRACAS process, guide and coordinate failure root cause analyses
Assist design teams with preparing FMEAs and FMECAs
Assist with reliability testing like Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT)
Familiarity with reliability analysis tools like Medini or similar
Familiarity with CAD and PLM software, preferably CATIA and 3DX
Ability to use the following tools or similar:
Polarion
CAFTA
G-Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets etc.)
Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:
MS or PhD in Reliability Engineering
Basic familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), SysML and tools like Medini
