As a Stress Composites Engineer for the Structures team, you will be responsible to generate and review composite structural analysis of aircraft primary and secondary structures, derive test plans to support the structure certification and work hand-in-hand with the Materials & Processes group. In this fast-paced culture, on any given day you will perform trade studies, derive requirements, complete hand calc and FEM analysis of composite structures, write test requirements and support test execution, analyze test results, or mentor junior team members.
Requirements
BS in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or related degree from an accredited University.
Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience, with a proven track record, developing products through a full product life cycle - concept, prototype, validated design with a vision to scaled production.
Composite sizing experience, knowledge of industry best practices and methodologies (CMH-17, AC 20-107B, FAR 23 & 25 Requirements)
Demonstrated FEM proficiency using industry recognized tools
Creation and validation of finite element models at different scale (Global and detailed) to support the composite structures certification process
Analysis reports and calculation files in computer format.
Basic knowledge of PDM/PLM systems
Capable of simplifying a complex problem and provide an initial analysis to scope critical constraints and feature sizing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Support to other internal departments that may require your composite skills
Self-motivated, team player.
