Certification Engineer - Ground Support Equipment

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Identification and analysis of applicable standards to BETA’s Ground Support Equipment (GSE) products to support the development of new products compliant with the applicable standards. 
  • Execution and management of certification programs. 
  • Hands-on, in-house testing of prototypes prior to NRTL testing. 
  • Develop test equipment for exercising IO on working prototypes of ground support equipment.
  • Write scripts for testing prototypes in python, bash, or similar scripting languages.
  • Minimum Qualifications we are seeking:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar.
  • 3 years of experience in certification of new products to UL standards working with an NRTL. 
  • Familiar with relevant standard bodies (ISO/IEC, UL, etc…) including radiated and conducted emissions. 
  • Creation and submission of documentation to support GSE product certification. 
  • Being BETA’s on-site representative during NRTL testing. 
  • Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:

  • Working knowledge of electric vehicle charging standards including J1772, ISO 15118, DIN 70121, ISO 61851, UL 2202, UL 2231, ISO 15118. 
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • >5 years of industry experience in electrical design for electric vehicle interfaces and charging systems
  • Experience testing and implementing strategies for mitigation of  EMI and EMC.
  • Strong communication skills, a proactive team player, comfortable defining your own tasks, and strong. the foundation of problem-solving skills, design of experiments, and simulation techniques.
