Financial and Operations Analyst

South Burlington, VT


The Financial and Operations Analyst will support Beta Technologies’ financial health through planning and budgeting, integrated financial planning, management and performance reporting, and forecasting and modeling. The incumbent will apply FP&A solutions to enhance the finance team's ability to manage performance by linking corporate strategy to execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, communicate  and own:
  • Dynamic bottoms-up 3-statement financial models to support valuation, forecasting, scenario analysis and operational decisions 
  • Comparables analysis and market research to support financial models and analyses
  • Operational metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) dashboards
  • Variance analyses of results to identify trends and corrective actions

  • Provide transactional support of corporate M&A activities and capital raises (debt & equity)
  • Prepare presentation materials (and supporting analyses and models) for regular leadership reviews and Board/Investor updates
  • Lead the development of complex ad-hoc analyses to support strategic decisions (e.g. pricing strategy, cost optimization, etc.)
  • Work closely with the accounting and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Identify and drive process improvements and productivity enhancements by developing dynamic reporting/forecasting tools and driving the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports and dashboards
  • Aid in the budgeting and capital expenditure planning processes
  • Qualifications and Prior Experience

  • Undergraduate degree, MBA and/or CPA a plus
  • 5+ years of work experience as a banker, consultant, private equity professional or operator (within a finance group) performing tactical and strategic financial and business analysis, restructuring experience is a plus  
  • Proven knowledge of financial modelling and forecasting, accounting and corporate finance
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with ability to extract useful information from large sets of unorganized or incomplete data
  • Solid presentation, reporting and communication skills
  • Strong computer aptitude, extreme proficiency and expertise with Microsoft Excel, moderate proficiency with Word and PowerPoint, experience and familiarity with Adaptive and databases (in general) are both a  plus
  • Adaptive and able to thrive in a constantly evolving environment
