Structures - IPT Lead Project Engineer



The IPT Lead Project Engineer for Structures will be a self-starter supporting the Structures team project management function. The selected candidate will be accountable to continuously update and track the Structures program schedule and work with the program office to track the Structures program requirements, schedules, and budgets.
The IPT Lead Project Engineer will work with the support of a cross-disciplinary team of Structures designers, stress engineers, materials and process engineers, certification engineers, DERs, industrial designers, and procurement and manufacturing specialists. You will have the responsibility to ensure alignment with the different interfacing groups, suppliers and work closely with the manufacturing group, aligning the Structures team schedule and milestones to support the aircraft production schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Team leader for a cross-functional team developing, certifying, procuring, and building the Airframe of Alia 250
  • Managing and coordinating team tasks, schedules, Coordination Memos, and resources
  • Technical coordination with suppliers to ensure development, design, qualification, and manufacturing efforts support the aircraft production schedule
  • Participate in and provide technical support for supplier selection including authoring requests for proposal, support to our Supply chain team and contracts
  • Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Accredited Engineering Degree in relevant discipline, PMP certification is considered an asset
  • 10+ years experience working in aircraft or rotorcraft industry with a focus on development, design, and certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years as a project/program manager.
  • Familiar with Program/Project Management processes
  • Relevant experience in other regulated industry will be valued
  • Proven ability to lead large and complex aircraft projects
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills, and commitment to objectives and responsibilities.
  • You have the ability to manage initiatives of a technical, financial, marketing, and general business nature
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Great communication skills (oral and written) in both English and French
  • Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Working knowledge of Project Management tools (MSProject, Jira, others)
  • Google G-suite including Drive, Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Charts; Slack
  • Familiarity with Solid Modeling tools (Onshape and CATIA experience preferred)
